today i saw someone i’ve seen the last time when i was sixteen years old. an old mate from school. we used to work for the school magazine together and we’ll be working together again next week.

last week included a bbq with a lot of Australians, a party at Boxhagener Platz, some time spent in our garden – working of course, buying a new (used) bike, a visit to Pankow and sunday pancakes.

it’s supposed to get warmer towards the middle of the week and we plan to have a little “Abendbrot-Picknick” in the park with a few friends and kids.

we were lucky to spend the last weekend, which was the hottest weekend of the year, outside the city with my parents. there was a little bit of sailing and lots of swimming in the lakes.

we share a little garden with a friend just about 20 minutes by bike away from where we live. it’s a luxury to call this little bit of green our own and make an escape whenever our neighborhood playgrounds get too busy. and it’s work. we did not plant a lot this year. just some potatoes, zucchini, chard to name a few. the strawberries tasted not of much this year and all the blueberries were probably eaten by the birds. but there will be apples and pears soon. we plan to make some applebutter and bake some cake.

i took these pictures with my phone. i’ve made my peace with the fact that i don’t carry a proper camera with me all the time. the phone has become my weapon of choice these days.
